How much does political campaign poster design cost in Kenya?

Does the quote cover artwork or printed copies?

A designer prepares the artwork. A printer produces physical copies using an agreed paper, size, quantity and finish. Some suppliers sell both, but you still need to know what each line of the quotation includes. A low price per printed copy is not the same as the fee for creating an original layout.

Ask for the design charge and printing charge separately. If you already have approved artwork, send the original file to the printer rather than a screenshot. If you only have an idea or a reference, tell the designer that the layout must be created first. Sage provides design; any physical production arrangement needs its own agreement.

What changes a political poster design quotation?

• How many original layouts you need, rather than how many copies will be printed.
• Whether the text and photographs are approved and ready to use.
• The amount of image preparation and the quality of the original files.
• Additional versions for print, WhatsApp or other digital placements.
• Editable handover, licensed assets and any separately agreed content work.
• The deadline and the number of review stages.

Consider one approved layout supplied as an A3 print PDF and a phone-friendly image. That differs from three original layouts, each adapted to several formats. State the deliverables individually so a supplier can quote the same job you intend to buy.

Compare the same deliverables

Ask each supplier the same questions: what files will arrive, which sizes are included, how corrections are handled and who approves the final copy? “A campaign package” is too broad to compare without an item list. A package may contain posters, a publication and social graphics; another may contain artwork alone.

Check whether the quoted price includes applicable taxes, source files or third-party licences. If something is excluded, record it before approving the work. A rush date should be confirmed against the actual brief, not assumed from a general advertisement.

A useful quotation also explains what counts as a new request. Correcting a spelling mistake during review and requesting an entirely different layout after approval are different tasks.

What should you send for a free estimate?

List the materials, intended formats, approved text and deadline. State whether you have a logo, authorised photographs and existing design files. Mention who will consolidate feedback. If the project includes a booklet, add an approximate page count and explain whether the text needs editing.

Keep confidential internal records out of an initial web chat. A short description is enough to start; discuss suitable file handling directly before sharing sensitive content. Sage does not use private client work as a public sample without separate written permission.

Before starting, agree the scope, final price and delivery date. Check the proof yourself, including names and supplied statements, and give written approval before the final export goes to a printer. Keeping the approved file makes later corrections and reorders easier.
